POSITION PURPOSE
Receiving Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that all merchandise is unloaded and received using correct procedures and delivered to the appropriate location within the store. In addition they are responsible for training Receiving Associates to follow Home Depot s receiving procedures and policies. In order to be effective, Receiving Supervisors must have a thorough knowledge of Home Depot s
receiving procedures and safety guidelines. Receiving Supervisors are required to be licensed to use powered lift equipment (i.e., electric pallet jack, slip sheet machine, reach truck, order puller, forklift)
which may be used when unloading trucks and moving freight from receiving to designated staging areas. They must also have excellent leadership and communication skills and be capable of working with
others to get the job done.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
SUPERVISING ASSOCIATES
Responsible for overseeing work activity within his/her department(s)
Communicates store and Home Depot objectives to associates
Supervising Associates within department(s) of responsibility
Scheduling Receiving Associates and the Return to Vendor Associate (RTV) work time and training (to be approved by the Operations Assistant Store Manager (ASM))
Training and certifying Receiving Associates and the RTV to use equipment necessary to do their jobs successfully (e.g., slip sheet machine, electric pallet jack, fork lift)
Training Associates in safe receiving and RTV procedures and standards
Motivating Receiving Associates and the RTV and assisting in their development
NATURE AND SCOPE
Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the store, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing an uneven walking surface
The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy
Doors near the department are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes
Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions
May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges
Passing forklifts emit gas fumes
Tools, supplies and related merchandise may contain hazardous materials
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Physical Requirements:
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Additional Qualifications:
Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items
-Occasionally requires the ability to lift and move bulky and heavy items without assistance
Responding to public address system announcements
-Requires listening for customer service calls, personal pages and general information announcements
Walking and Standing
-Requires moving around the store to assist Customers
Identifying and reading reports, tickets and UPC labels
-Requires recognizing, identifying and using merchandise and necessary reports
Climbing Ladders
-Requires being able to climb a ladder, up to the height of 12 - 16 feet, in order to obtain or stock merchandise
