Clinical Data Abstractor - Full-time / Part-time

Aerotek is seeking an experienced cardiac nurse for a Clinical Data Abstractor role in Indianapolis. Candidates in this role will be reviewing data of multiple doctor and hospital chains, all within cardiology cases. Clients include heart hospitals, heart centers, and cardiology based clinics all throughout the US. Our client's abstractors take tasks off nurses and doctors by pulling out specific pieces of patient information needed to assess if the appropriate level of care was given, to input insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid information and to enter data into the National Cardiac Database. All of this is done to track trends in the Cardiac industry on how to better service/care for patients. For example: if they are noticing trends in different medication or post-procedure care are showing quicker/better recovery, they will include that information in the next National Cardiac briefing that is sent out. They will be review patient information, documentation, and all other information within the medical records.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Collect data from various sources including medical records, clinical information systems, logs/records, interviews, national and state databases and governing organizations
- Manage request for data and provides comprehensive quality managements reports including utilization, outcome studies, and scorecards. Generates summary reports of clinical measures and required regulatory/accreditation measure of administrative and clinical staff.
- Conduct data retrieval, aggregation, analysis and reports. Provides team support for performance improvement, quality management and patient safety initiatives. May also participate in audits of medical records, departments and patient care areas for compliance with key regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain various quality databases including loading import files, generating and working data status reports. Verifies accuracy of records, produces export files and identifies inconsistencies in system operations and alerts appropriate staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

RN Certification (Bachelors or Associates)

5+ Years RN experience, 2+ Yeas specifically in cardiac

NICE TO HAVE:

Clinical data abstraction experience or other Indirect patient care experience

3+ Years of Cardiac only experience

SHIFT:

Monday - Friday: Flexible 1st Shift (can start as early as 6am and stay as late 6pm as long as 8 hours of work are completed)

Potential to work from home after the first 12 months
