From stitching and binding to special coatings, embossing, intricate folds, die cutting, and 1-to-1 inkjet messaging, our Finishing team uses the industry’s most advanced technology to transform ink on paper into finished pieces that grab consumers’ attention and drive sales and readership for our customers.
We seek talent who lives near or will relocate to our Oklahoma City plant. At over one million square feet in size, this CLIMATE CONTROLLED plant is our largest plant west of the Mississippi river. Position Overview:
Quad Graphics is seeking experienced Stitcher Operators to make magazines and catalouges at our Oklahoma City, OK plant.
These Stitcher operators are responsible for set up and operation of multimillion dollar, highly automated Goss SP 1000, and Goss SP 1,100 Saddle Stitcher machines.
Qualifications:
-Prior experience directing a manufacturing crew required
-Makeready experience required
-Preventative machine maintenance experience required. This could be greasing the machine, changing belts, and simliar work.
- Desired experience includes operating a Saddle Stitcher, with Goss SP, Mueller Tempo, and some of the larger Heidleberg stitchers preferred. Other stitchers and bindery equipment will be considered.
- Prior Finishing Operator experience and proven familiarity of Finishing equipment is preferred.
- Prior experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is required.
- Must have mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment for set up and malfunctions are required
- Must have a good understanding of computer controls and how they and how they work
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations
- Must have an excellent understanding of measurements
- Candidates must also have good verbal and written comprehension skills.
- Must be able to bend and lift continuously, performing repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere, and stand for
extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to thrive in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience on Domino Inkjet equipment is a plus
