Accounting Analyst

Job Summary

Entry level position in the Corporate Accounting Department. This person will perform monthly close functions and reconcile all cash related accounts to ensure integrity for Sierra Trading Post (STP). Looking for someone eager to begin an accounting career; there are many opportunities for growth with proven ability to succeed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Balance consolidated accounts daily to the general ledger. Balance monthly manual bank statements to the general ledger in accordance with departmental deadlines. Completes balancing checklists and daily productivity sheets to ensure department standards are met.
• Performs monthly reconciliations for all STP store bank accounts.
• Researches all outstanding reconciling items with Banks, Stores and Loss Prevention in a timely manner. Contacts banks and stores to resolve operational or noncompliance issues and communicates any potential problems to management. Generates weekly Outstanding Items Reports for review by management.
• Prepares journal entries to adjust reconciling items to their proper accounts.
• Prepares the monthly Cash Flow forecast and supporting analyses for estimating the month end cash balance to be reported on the financial statements. Assists with month end close and prepare month end accruals to ensure accurate reporting.
• Special projects as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• 0-2 years accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Detail oriented and organized
• Analytical, problem solver with strong time management skills
• Strong Excel skills, Oracle/ ERP experience a plus
• Self-motivated and eager to learn
• Strong interpersonal skills
