About this job

Our client is current seeking a mig welder with minimum of 1 year prior welding on aluminum experience or vocational degree.
Must have previously had exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes.

This position is responsible for the fabrication of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel sub-components which are supplied to the assembly, shipping and distribution departments. The welder works from engineering blueprints, production orders, work instructions and inspection plans and is responsible for first piece and in-process inspection of product that leaves their work station. The welder can be assigned to any work station as required by product demand. Housekeeping, safety, organization and teamwork are essential values within the welding department. Will be required/have to purchase basic tools of trade.

Pay: $14-18 based on experience

Schedule: M-F 3:30 PM-12:00 AM

Experience & Education:
* Entry Level - Must have exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
* Must be able to pass a practical proficiency test
* Minimum of 1 year prior welding experience or vocational degree
* High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Ability to carry 50 lbs. for 100 feet unassisted.

Detailed Job Description:
Need to have their own hood/shield.

* MIG, Steel, Aluminum
* Vertical fillet welds, Circular welds / turntable, butt welds, horizontal
* Welds product using fixtures with minimal supervision
* Can interpret basic elements of a drawing or sketch including welding symbols
* Can identify types of joints and welds
* Can set up and maintain welding machines including changing wire, gas.
* Has authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected
* Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices with adherence to PPE requirements
* Can follow written and verbal details to complete assignments
* Understands and adheres to company 5S standards
* Understands and adheres to employee handbook standards
* Can accurately record labor times and adhere to productivity standards
* Can use a ruler, tape measure, square measuring tape, or caliper to perform accurate measurements to part specifications
* Can compute, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions and decimals
* Understands and demonstrates the 5 core behavioral expectations: Communicative, Motivated, Responsible, dependable, Inquisitive.
* Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment, including TPM of Welding Machinery
* Work with management team to communicate all problems or ideas for improvement
* Support continuous improvement programs
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
