Sodexo is currently seeking a Chef Manager to join our healthcare Food Service team at Lewis Gale Medical Center located in Salem, VA. The Chef Manager will report directly to the Operations Manager. Lewis Gale Medical Center is a 521 Bed Hospital and Behavioral Health Center. The position is responsible for supplying At Your Request patient services, retail, catering, coffee shop, and sub shop. This position works to coordinate all food production responsibilities and ensure that all tasks are being completed in a timely and accurate manner to provide the highest level of customer and client satisfaction possible. Additional position responsibilities include overseeing the Sodexo health and safety audit, assisting with inventory and ordering, training and team development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary or kitchen production background, preferably in a healthcare environment as well as previous management experience and excellent leadership and communication skills. Candidates must have the ability to effectively prioritize the workload, strict attention to detail a passion for customer service, customer satisfaction, and a commitment to quality. The ideal candidate will be ServSafe certified and have a working knowledge of HACCP and have experience with Health and Safety audits.

Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables. May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent

Basic Management Experience - 1 year
