Position Summary\:
Assure the effective use of unit resources to meet patient’s needs for nursing care on a shift by shift basis, promote interdepartmental cooperation and problem solving, facilitate the cooperative efforts of the unit nursing staff group, and provide an accessible management person to communicate with staff and to carry out supervisory functions. Provide direct nursing care to patients of all ages on the given unit.
Qualifications\:
Appropriate state licensure, specialized professional credentialing, and other formal education as needed. Registered Nurse competency is validated by the Departmental Competency Based Orientation (CBO) and designated annual competency validation for department.
Qualification:Education Required\:
A minimum of an Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
*Effective September 1, 2017, current BLS through the American Heart Association, or a previously approved provider, will be required before employment.
Previous Related Experience Required\:
Preferred management or leadership experience in field of expertise.
Special Skills or Attributes Required\:
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
Must also be able to walk, stand extensively, bend, stoop, squat, visually discriminate close objects,hear and distinguish normal sounds.
