As the role of the community pharmacy in the health care industry continues to evolve, the Rite Aid team becomes more focused than ever on overall wellness. Roles within the stores such as Health and Wellness Associate, Pharmacy Technician and Shift Supervisorplay a significant role in helping our customers connect with products and services that will support their overall health and wellness.

The role of the Health and Wellness Associate is designed to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty and utilization of pharmacy and clinical services by effectively promoting and selling services provided by Rite Aid inside and outside of the store. This involves proactively engaging with customers to provide a unique shopping experience by leveraging their specialized knowledge of product categories and utilizing in-store technology. The Health and Wellness Associate connects the customer with the Pharmacist when they need help selecting products related to their well-being such as vitamins and over the counter drugs. The Health and Wellness Associate is critical in identifying organizing and executing business to business and community outreach activities including immunization outreach, senior citizen center visits, health care provider visits, and fitness center visits.

On-the-job training is provided by Rite Aid, so applicants do not need to pharmacy experience to be qualified. Prior retail experience is desired, but not required. The Pharmacy Technician Program specifically is a 6 month program comprised of Computer Based Training (CBTs), Workbook exercises, hands on learning, classroom sessions and culminates in a Final Competency Exam.
