JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for bar service equipment/supply maintenance and set-up. Maintains the cleanliness of the bar and service area during the shift. Performs bartending functions under supervision as business requires.
SCOPE:
Works to provide general assistance to the Bartender maintaining the bar and servicing customers.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Supervisor: Assistant Beverage Manager and/or Beverage Manager.
Supervision: Has specific duties and procedures which are periodically monitored.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
1. Maintains bar and service ware during their shift.
2. Provides assistance with all bartending services required for fulfilling customer requests.
3. Treats customers with courtesy and respect.
4. Follows all applicable safety procedures.
5. Appropriately groomed and wears the uniform provided at all times.
NON-PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess basic reading skills.
2. Must possess basic writing skills.
3. Must possess basic mathematical skills.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Completion of specialized bartending school preferred.
Qualifications:
THE PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS LISTED BELOW ARE GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION. THE ACTUAL EXERTION LEVEL (AND FREQUENCY OF USE) CAN AND DOES FLUCTUATE DEPENDING ON THE INDIVIDUAL TASKS BEING PERFORMED.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.
2. Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly.
3. Ability to lift 20 - 30 pounds repeatedly.
4. Visual ability needed to accurately measure ingredients for mixing drinks.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Obtain bar stock, ice and service items from storage areas.
2. Replace beer kegs, soda tanks, CO2 tanks, wine-on-tap containers as required.
3. Clean the bar area continuously during the shift.
4. Remove used service items from the bar area as required.
5. Assist Bartender with bar set-up and break-down as required.
6. Cut (prepare) fruits and vegetables for cocktail garnishes.
OTHER DUTIES:
1. Mix and pour cocktails as needed.
2. Requisition needed bar supplies and stock.
3. Additional related duties as requested by department management.
