Operator - Full-time / Part-time

Operator is needed to work in fast paced, highly safety sensitive research and development center for a petroleum based company in the bay area. The operator will be responsible for operating, maintenance, and trouble-shooting of multiple Process Units with limited direction from Shift Supervisor with special attention to safety and maintenance. Since this work requires working with high pressures (~3,000 psi) and high temperature (800 °F), it is mandatory that the operator follow safe working procedures for high pressure equipment.

Operator should be willing to work in a team environment and performing multiple tasks in the above disciplinary areas. Operator must be willing to work with hazardous materials (crude oil, solvents). Mechanical aptitude is a must, ability to troubleshoot experimental systems, flexibility in performing tasks, and ability to work alone is a key benefit. Knowing refinery processes, Swagelok fittings, pipe fittings, and Autoclave Engineer is a key requirement to setup our new experimental systems.

Key Job Responsibilities (essential position functions):
Follows safe work practices and guidelines
Responsible for safe and independent operation of multiple Process Units with limited direction from Shift Supervisor
Monitors and inspects operating conditions; records observations and data in log sheet
Samples various process fluids and gasses
Controls operating parameters utilizing process controllers
