Job description: Data entry technician

The main function of a data entry specialist is to operate data entry devices, such as a keyboard or computer, to verify and input data. A typical data entry specialist is responsible for accurate information documentation and personal project management.

Technical skills include documentation skills and time management. Job Responsibilities: Read source documents such as canceled checks, sales reports, or bills, and enter data in specific data fields or onto tapes or disks for subsequent entry, using keyboards or scanners. Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered. Locate and correct data entry errors, or report them to supervisors. Compare data with source documents, or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors.

Entering information that is coming in through faxes primarily from clinics and hospitals. All information is being inputted to lotus system this information includes but not limited to; member names, insurance information, client they are under, HMO, member addresses, etc. (protected health information). Once fully inputted these details are sent to the pharmacy technicians for further review.

M-F 9:30 - 6:00 PM after training

SKILLS:

• Previous clerical, data entry or typing skills
• Must be able to type 30+WPM
• Must be able to type: 8,000KSPH
