JOB TASK LIST



JOB TITLE: CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE




DEPT. CUSTOMER SERVICE REPORTS TO: CUST. SER. MGR.

SUMMARY: Communicates Customers needs to other departments. Receives Customers orders and complaints over phone.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Reports to Customer Service Manager.

  • Talks with customers and receives orders.

  • Fills out order forms, determines price of order and enters order into computer system.

  • Updates customer data in computer when changes have been made.

  • Initiates complaint investigation form.

  • Generates spec card based on customer specification.

  • Revises spec card as necessary. Insures that all copies of spec cards have been changed.

  • Works closely with sales in order to fulfil customer s needs.

  • Estimates price on some orders.

  • Prepares estimates.

  • Maintains inventory on warehouse items.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.



    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to computed rate, and percent.



    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
