Position Summary:
This position is dedicated to the purpose of IT operations day to day supervision of the department. Should be an independent, self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Must be able to work well with Management. Individual will maintain a professional, courteous attitude while delivering the highest level of customer service. The scope of this position includes the physical data center rooms, the servers, the databases, and the applications and processes on the servers. This position provides support and escalation supervision of staff.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership:
• Day to day supervision operations department as well as providing on-call support.
• Build customer loyalty through monitoring customer expectation, measuring and managing results and making necessary changes when appropriate
• Build trust through demonstrating honesty, keeping commitments and behaving in a consistent manner. Treats people with respect, dignity and fairness.
• Provides constructive criticism and positive feedback regarding associates performance reinforcing efforts and progress, creating an atmosphere of trust and respect to foster open and honest two way feedback.
• Identifies responsibilities that could be handled by direct reports providing guidance and decision making authority using department meetings to reassign tasks and goals when necessary.
• Schedules regular status meetings explaining challenges and encouraging participation prior to recommending a solution.
• Drive operational excellence and Identify solutions
• Interface with Vendors
• Drive “Your Voice” results and tactical initiates to improve the working environment.
• Schedule employee shifts and Backfill/assist with shift coverage
• Ensure proper communications and transparency around issues, problems and events.

Operations
• Maintain safe working environment
• Drive and implement best in class data center practices
• Assist in the closure of tickets to meet SLA and assign / help with tasks.
• Enforce policy and procedures, develop Policy & Procedures.
• Drive and Maintain department documentation
• Streamline and optimize day to day task.
• Ensure we are meeting our security and compliance needs
• Run point on new products, procedures and items being turned over to operations



Hours- M-F 1:30-10pm

Education and Qualifications:
• High School diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or appropriate related experience

Experience:
5-7+ years of operations experience in large scale environments
Hands on experience (Liebert, APC, Generators, ATS, Servers ETC)
Experience operations and troubleshooting
Working knowledge large datacenter CRAC
Working knowledge large datacenter power distribution
Working knowledge datacenter fire suppression
Safety and workforce best practices and implementation
Knowledge ITIL, NFPA, AHSRAE, NEC
Working knowledge with BCP/DR
Knowledge of Unix, Linux and windows system administration skills helpful

• Knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
• Good technical knowledge of current network hardware and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
