Job DescriptionOur Distribution Center Associate position is the perfect position for someone who desires to make quality personal! Long gone are the days of simple transactions. Our Distribution team seeks to act in the best interest of our customers. While being vigilant about safety, you will collaborate with various team members to support our customers every need! $14.50Monday - Friday8:00 am- 5:00 pm Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:The Distribution Center associate's primary functions include: The security and quantity accuracy of physical inventoryThe environmental safety of the materials stored and handledThe safe operation of all equipment, including fork lifts, pallet jacks, dock levelers, ladders, safety equipment, mixing equipment, pallet wrapping tools and hand toolsThe timely and accurate receiving, storing and shipping of materials, including physical count and documentation records, such as shipping and receiving recordsThe safe storage of materials, including consideration of weight and stability of the packaging on a palletThe identification, elimination and immediate formal reporting of all observed hazardous or unsafe conditions, particularly including those involving equipment, facilities and storage proceduresThe maintenance of the Distribution Center facilities in a clean and orderly appearance, including interior and exterior spacesThe preparation of the Distribution Center for, and the participation in, the physical inventories of the Distribution Center, which inventories are normally done twice a year on a prescheduled weekend basisThe ordering of Distribution Center supplies, to include strapping tape, shipping labels, and paper goods for general usePlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. (Would need to provide proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used.)Physical Requirements:Travel - may be some for training purposes, occasional customer deliveries, inventory, etc. (up to 100 pounds) with or without equipment.Climb a ladder.Use of specific equipment typical in Distribution Center environment.Physical ability to handle (lifting, pulling and pushing) typical product packaging, from light weight items up to 100 pound bags (with equipment) required.The ability and willingness to handle materials, including loading and unloading commercial carrier trucks and various customer vehicles.The ability to operate the forklift properly and safely, with emphasis on the need for coordination in handling the pallets stored in elevated rack positions; eye-hand-foot coordination, depth perception and smooth forklift operating skills in tight spaces is a requirement;The ability to tolerate and work in the temperature ranges of the Distribution Center facilities, including summer and winter extremes;The ability to read, understand and comply with shipping regulations, particularly concerning size and weight limitations and the regulations and proper documentation of shipments involving flammable and hazardous materials;The ability to utilize telephone and computer equipment to the extent of communicating with commercial truckers, customers and fellow employees about inventory status, transportation and shipping schedules and scheduling, including acting as a shipment expediter when appropriate or neededThe proper use of safety devices, such as, belts, back support vests and similar such safety items which minimize risk of personal injuryThe maintenance of a pleasant, friendly attitude toward customers and fellow employees, recognizing that frequent changes of orders and shipping schedules is a normal part of the jobThe maintenance of a neat and clean personal appearance, commensurate with the obvious recognition of the nature of the Distribution Center work Why Kelly®?At Kelly Services®, we work with the best.
