The Store Distribution Center supervisor directs and oversees the daily activities relating to a specific distribution center area or function. Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing, in a timely manner, the daily activities of a given functional area (receiving, office, shipping, maintenance, etc.) and implementing programs that ensure the needs of all functions within that area are met (training, safety, security and housekeeping).

Requirements:

  • Lead, direct, train and manage the performance of a team of associates in a functional area.
  • Direct involvement in the hiring of associates.
  • Responsible for receiving, vendor compliance audits, quality assurance, and warehousing activities, as well as the Stein Mart associates affiliated with those tasks.
  • Accountable for adherence to established corporate controls, practices, processes, procedures and policies.
  • Maintains strict compliance with corporate sanitation, risk management and asset management programs, and audit expectations including, but not limited to, safety, training, inventory, security, proper utilization and maintenance of material handling and transportation equipment.
  • Work with management teams to solve specific problems related to corresponding purchase orders to ensure the timely processing of said purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with established processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a high level of employee morale.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, retail management or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 2 to 4 years applicable work experience in a retail apparel environment, to include minimum 2 years supervisory experience, retail store operations and retail distribution management.
  • Working knowledge of retail distribution center operations/processes, including receiving, picking/packing, inventory accuracy, shipping and material flow efficiency.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and strong collaboration/relationship building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Sense of Urgency.
  • Possess a strong ability to achieve results through others.
