Central Regional Safety Coordinator

Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for a Central Regional Safety Coordinator, at its Greenville, IL location. The Central Regional Safety Coordinator will report to the EH&S Manager and will be directly responsible for day to day support of Carlisle’s CCM EH&S programs for approximately seven facilities located in the central US.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Regular strategic communication with EH&S Manager
  • Assist in developing and implementing safety policies throughout CCM
  • Conduct comprehensive policy audits throughout all CCM facilities
  • Execute basic environmental reports
  • Manage/execute environmental, health and safety projects
  • Attend required Regional and CCM management team meetings and safety committees
  • Prepare, implement and execute safety training
  • Facilitate monthly Regional safety champion safety calls
  • Serve as primary advisor with regard to all safety issues for Regional management teams, supervisors, local safety committees and hourly employees
  • Maintain close contact with government and members of the local safety communities
  • Maintain company compliance with all appropriate OSHA and state safety regulations and maintain appropriate reporting and accountability systems
  • Participate in industry and professional interest groups to stay current on trends, issues and technological innovation
  • Track OSHA recordable incidents, rates and trends; and regularly report safety performance measures to management
  • Track and review all incident reports for trends, lead the investigation of serious recordable and lost-time incidents, and help develop necessary corrective actions
  • Participate with department management in safety audits, investigations and inspections
  • Participate in the strategic planning of manufacturing process and facility modifications to ensure that potential environmental and safety related consequences are considered
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Approximately 50% travel
  • Bachelor degree in Safety Management or related field and / or relevant equivalent education
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a health and safety role, manufacturing or processing preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standard preferred
  • Ability to forge the right relationships with employees, regulatory officials and corporate executives to communicate the company’s safety and environmental health policies and accomplishments
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to build consensus and positively influence a diverse group of co-workers without direct control
  • Basic environmental compliance is preferred but not required, must have willingness to expand current knowledge to include other topics
  • Must have demeanor such that facilities view role as help to their safety system
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
