JOB SUMMARY:

The On-line Retail Manager is part of the Global Operations (GO) department, which is known for taking ideas into implementation across all brands, disciplines, and continents. This role is a member of the GO Spa, Fitness and Retail team. Online Retail is responsible for selling brand exclusive and complimentary products via our ecommerce websites.

The On-line Retail Manager focuses on executing high-level strategies related to product sourcing, documenting hotel payments for accounting, and building awareness for our brands. In addition, the candidate is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and distributing the website content such as videos, photos, articles, blogging, local events, etc. This position partners with a large number of internal departments within Marriott International including Marketing, Brand, Hotel Operations, eCommerce and PR/Buzz Marketing. This candidate is also responsible for working with our third-party agency to execute on retail related strategies

The position embraces an ability to work within a large corporation but with 'start-up' like expectations and pace, with a deadline-driven environment that often changes with the business priorities. The work requires to have knowledge and active usage of social media, also, to be a forward thinker person to manage multiple projects simultaneously, to execute on strategy, and to provide insight based on data.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

* 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related major; 3-5 years' experience in the business, sales and marketing, or related professional area.

* Preferred

* Online Marketing, Merchandising and/or eCommerce experience a plus.

* Specific digital / interactive marketing training / certificates preferred.

* Direct experience managing merchandising strategies in an eCommerce organization.

* Hands-on experience in direct to consumer marketing communications, ideally in the retail and/or eCommerce space.

* Experience in providing customer/client service and working with cross-functional, or matrixed teams.

* Proven track record of success working in or with fast-paced, consumer focused organizations.

* Strong negotiating, influencing, problem-solving and project management skills.

* Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment within budgets and timelines.

* Experience with Tableau and databases preferred (or similar software).

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

* Researches new product concepts for the online retail program to extend their online assortment Identifies new trends in related products for all brands' online retail program.

* Partners with the brand and global sourcing teams to ensure retail is part of the process and new product makes its way online.

* Partners with the in-house design team to identify and highlight new products to sell.

* Conducts the financial tracking, daily reporting and payment processing for corporate and hotel program profits

* Calculates and submits the necessary documentation to MBS for the hotels profit sharing.

* Supervises the daily sales import process to ensure timely update

* Reports on sales trends and other KPIs influenced by seasonality, promotions or other factors.

* 3) Manages the creation of promotions and assist with marketing opportunities

* Networks with internal and external departments/organizations to identify opportunities to promote online retail.

* Identifies areas of improvement in the online retail program across various campaigns and promotions.

* Assists with The Ritz-Carlton catalog production and vendor relations/setup.

* Supports ShopMarriott's content marketing plan identifying opportunities to highlight engaging content both on-site and off-site (i.e. social channels).

* Complies with Federal and State laws applying to procedures.

* Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.

* Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
