POSITION OBJECTIVE
Supports Trend initiatives through research analysis and keen editing to recommend compelling and actionable deliverables. Ability to be nimble and adapt to the needs of a changing business. Intuitively has their finger on the pulse of what's happening in fashion, culture, social media and technology. Possesses an excellent taste level and has an eye for newness. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES researches and reports trends in fashion
  • Researches and analyzes trends in color, fabric, print and pattern and silhouettes and then can translate findings for private and exclusive brands and ultimately the Kohl's customer
  • Ideates with the trend manager to drive newness and innovation
  • Independently shops aspirational and inspirational retailers/brands to understand the competitive landscape and identify emerging trends
  • Supports and helps identify white space opportunities within the apparel and accessories organizations
articulates a compelling trend story/deliverable based on research
  • Communicates thoughts, ideas, information and messages in a logical, organized and coherent manner
  • Expresses him/herself effectively in one-on-one conversations, small and large groups, as well as with Senior Leadership
  • Adapts content and level of detail in written and spoken communication to meet audience needs
  • Uses InDesign to create trend materials for all reports and presentations
establishes and maintains high quality relationships to achieve goals
  • Gains credibility by leveraging expertise to influence key partners
  • Develops networks across women's apparel and accessories that are diverse in level and function (internally and externally)
  • Ability to collaborate with trend team and brand partners creatively, constructively and respectfully
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-5 years in related position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Innate sense of style and eye for trends (fashion, social, culture, etc.)
  • Ability to travel and shop with an eye for a specific season, product, internal Kohl's brand, etc.
  • Confident speaker and presenter
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of social media websites, bloggers, etc., that relate to fashion and culture
  • Possesses a sense of urgency for deadlines
  • Multi-tasker who can work on many projects of varying priority at the same time
  • Proficient in InDesign
preferred
  • College degree in a fashion related field or experience in strategy, consumer insights, writing/editorial roles
  • Experience in women’s apparel and accessories
