About this job
Provide leadership for food production, prep, and/or dish area in the absence of other management. Assist in the continuous training of employees. Maintain service and product standards on a consistent basis. Assist in monitoring food costs, portion control, quality control and sanitation practices. Make recommendations on improvements in operational performance. Prep and prepare food, set up and sanitize production areas, wash equipment, package and seal food. Work independently as needed. Maintain effective communication with employees and supervisors.
Requirements
Required:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Two years of food service production/prep experience. An equivalent combination of culinary education and related food experience will be considered.
- A valid US or Canadian driver's license.
- ServSafe certified or ability to obtain certification with university assistance within one year of beginning employment.
- Stable work history with a good attendance record.
- Must have high work standards and productivity, strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
- Ability to perform basic math functions, lift and move up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, and stand, walk, reach and stoop extensively.
- Knowledge of sanitation requirements.
- Ability to meet daily deadlines.
- Teamwork, particularly with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds.
Preferred:
- Experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
Additional Information:
- Hours for this position are Monday - Friday 9:30am - 6:00pm, and every fourth Sunday.
- Occasional overtime may be required on an as needed basis.
