Job Summary Relying on extensive system and network experience, the Senior System/Network Engineer applies systems analysis techniques and procedures to determine system functional specifications to ensure business system and network information adequately and appropriately supports corporate objectives, and ensures the accuracy and performance of information system. In consultation with internal users and team members, the Senior Systems Engineer recommends, designs, develops, analyzes, tests and administers all levels of system and network for the company's information system environment. Essential Duties & Accountabilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Accountable for operational integrity of enterprise network infrastructureStay abreast of new technologies and best practices to introduce new features across the organizationEnsure connectivity and bandwidth for all company locations and 300+ computer users.Identify, resolve and proactively work to prevent performance or other production impacting issues on system and network.Lead & Plan out LAN, WAN and Network Security infrastructure projects such as multi-vendor Network devices, cabling systems, enterprise and carrier class switches and routers, high end firewalls, VPN technologies, Network acceleration and content delivery appliances.Improve and troubleshoot the existing infrastructure while investigating developing technologies that might augment the system in the futureCoordinate and quickly identify and eliminate any issues affecting the Network, including global, enterprise-level LAN, WAN and Internet; work with outside vendors and providers to resolve complications when necessaryWork with contractors, vendors and organize, plan and execute large-scale projects, taking them from the conceptual stages all the way through to implementation; determine the resources required to quickly meet objectivesTroubleshoot tough problems, provide guidance and help find creative solutions.Also help identify and mitigate risks, construct project schedules and prepare status reports; you use performance metrics and measurement techniques to assess performance for Network-related servicesRecommends software, hard methodologies and design to improve system and network efficiencies.Test and modify system, and network based on user specifications and business needs.Document processes and procedures on an on-going basis.Communicate system, and network modifications with team members.Develop hardware and software interface documentations.Working with other IT staff and/or vendor support contacts when necessary to resolve technical problems with computing equipment and softwareEnforcing Company security policiesEnsure the Company's business is conducted in compliance with all Company contracts and/or agreements, internal controls, and in a manner that is compliant with federal, state and local regulations in locations the company operates and/or sells products that are applicable to this position.All other duties as necessary to provide support to the IT Department in the achievement of departmental and/or organizational objectives.Perform other duties as assigned.Demonstrate and actively support TIDI Products True North, Mission, Core Values and Guiding Principles. Knowledge / Skills / Ability Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred. Minimum of 8 years' experience in system and network administration. Qualifications Hands on experience with VMWare, Cisco, and Microsoft server technologies Hands on experience with routing, networking, VLANs, VoIP, firewalls, and switching Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Terminal server, and Cisco EquipmentExperience with Enterprise Storage Solutions (HP 3par, HP StoreVirtual,EMC, VNXe) Experience in virtual and cloud environment Experience in server management, system and network related services, and hardware and application performance monitoring and tune up Experience with Veeam, Shadow Protect, CommVault, Backup Exec or other Enterprise backup solution.Experience in supporting an international network and remote sites.Ability to act proactively and to apply creative problem solving skills. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
