I. Job Summary:
The Operations Coach is a leadership position that is found in each Operations area of the Millwork
building: e.g., Exterior, Interior, Shipping, Prefinish, and Cabinets. The Coach is responsible for leading a
team to safely achieve its productivity goals. The Coach staffs the team, making sure all positions are
covered, and that the team has what it needs to be successful. The Coach is responsible for overseeing the
Team Members’ training, and evaluates the Team Members’ performance
The Operations Coach is a leadership role, and is primarily responsible for staying on budget. This requires
managing labor costs by ensuring productivity targets are achieved, quality is maintained, and overtime is
minimized. The biggest challenges for the Coach are the constantly changing environment and the
demands for decisions from the Coach to address emergent issues. Short term challenges are adjusting to
this fast pace, and the need to make decisions “on your feet.”
