AtWork in Bristol, TN is currently seeking candidates for a Laborer position in Bristol, VA.
This is a non-skilled position assisting in the maintenance and construction of city owned streets, buildings and grounds, solid waste management and collection activities, vehicles and equipment.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Engages in a wide variety of tasks such as assisting in the maintenance, construction and repair of streets and sidewalks, storm sewers, culverts and catch basins, curb and gutter, buildings and grounds, cleaning roadside ditches, mowing and related tasks.
Assists with snow removal and traffic control operations.
Assists in the collection of solid waste as assigned.
Assists in the solid waste management endeavor at the Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility as assigned.
Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of the material used in construction, maintenance and repair activities and the general practices of solid waste collection and management as related to assigned areas.
Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety policies and practices applicable to work being done.
Good knowledge of the care and utilization of materials and equipment used.
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, contractors and the general public.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Must meet drug and background screen requirements
