Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Computer Information Systems (CISS) within the Engineering, Business and Information Technologies Division (EBIT). LCCC is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative student-centered instructor who places student academic achievement and success as top priorities. The position will focus on the CISS Networking curriculum and teaching sections of CISS 121, CISS 125, CISS 145, CISS 227, CISS 245 and CISS 247 and other courses, as assigned. The standard teaching responsibility is a minimum of 15 credits per semester. Summer session teaching is optional. The successful candidate will be expected to: advise and mentor students; team with other faculty members and administrators; participate in department and program-related activities including program development, review and coordination, marketing, and university partnership pathway coordination; actively support the college, division and its mission; and fulfill other standard responsibilities of tenure-track faculty members including committee involvement and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline; earned degrees from an accredited college or university; and relevant business/work experience applying hands-on networking skills related to the experience areas listed below. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, innovative, student-centered instructor who has a strong background in Networking and Windows Server environments, communication skills, and can demonstrate how they have kept current in a quickly evolving field. Candidate must be able to function well as part of a Faculty team. Experience in the following areas required: Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016;DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, VSS, Subnetting;Local Area Network Design / Infrastructure;SQL Server;Exchange Server;Operating Systems (Client and Server O/S's, Windows 7/8/10, Linux);Scripting (batch files, Linux scripts, login scripts, Powershell);VMware and/or Hyper-V; Active Directory (users, computers, policy, permissions) Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline; Systems Development methodologies including SDLC and Agile, C# programming, Database Design, Cisco Certification, Microsoft Office Suite; college teaching experience, including distance learning, interactive classroom technologies; experience in hands-on/applied instruction utilizing computer/network labs; and experience working in multicultural environments and with diverse student populations. Candidates should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and innovative active learning approaches.
