General Manager - Full-time / Part-time

Miller Truck & Storage Co. and Miller Warehousing Services, Inc. who has been serving the rigging and warehousing markets for over 60 years in the mid-Michigan area, is seeking a general manager to work in Jackson, MI!

Miller Truck & Storage and Miller Warehousing Services, Inc. offers:

• $70,000 to $80,000 per year, base salary.

Requirements:

Candidate must meet the following requirements:

• 7 years of experience in management, specifically in the machinery rigging and/or warehousing industries.
• Proven knowledge of the machinery rigging and installation industry.
• Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work with all levels of staff & customer base.
• Able to work with unionized work force.
• Be a United States citizen.

Responsibilities:

Candidate must meet the following requirements:

 Manage all personnel and business aspects at Miller Truck & Storage Co. and Miller Warehousing Services, Inc. Delegate job tasks based on staff’s strengths, skills and experience.

• Direct all fiscal aspects of both companies. Includes analyzing financial statements, capital expenditures, budgeting and strategic planning.
• Negotiate union contracts and grievances.
• Assist staff with issues regarding customer problems and complaint resolutions.
• Report to CEO for scheduled meetings to review financial and management reports, work through current procedure or project challenges, their successes and various issues as they relate to the companies’ goals.
• Enforce all company policies and union rules and regulations.
• Enforce MDOT vehicle regulations and driver qualifications and adhere to MIOSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Meet with customers and take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of their projects.
• Develop comprehensive project/job scope to be shared with clients as well as staff members. Assist in quoting and estimating where required.
• Track performance and cost, specifically to analyze the successful completion of the project/job scope in comparison to estimates and plans.
