Store Manager

JOB SUMMARY
Accountable for the successful operation of a Pet Valu store. Directs the efforts of the
Assistant Manager and Store Associates to execute company policies and systems;
achieve standards for Safety; Security; Customer Service; Housekeeping; Sales; Training;
Employee Relations and Cost Control.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform all job duties required of all sales associate.
• Maximize store sales through proper Merchandising, and Marketing initiatives execution of customer service objectives.
• Train and certify all store employees in the Passion selling and customer service standards.
• Maximize store profits by managing and ensuring execution of Cash Handling, Labor, and Inventory Management Systems.
• Maintain adequate personnel staffing. Write bi-weekly employee schedule to ensure customer service, cost control and training objectives are met.
• Plan, supervise and participate in the training of all employees.
• Follows up with staff to ensure required reports/paperwork are accurate and submitted on time.
• Execute all Human Resource systems to ensure that employees are treated fairly.
• Conduct employee performance appraisals according to company policy.
• Enforce company and store safety procedures.
• Any additional duties assigned by the District Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possesses Retail Store Management Experience
• Prior supervisory experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to stand and/or walk 100 percent of a shift.
• Must have manual dexterity for correct use of a computer keyboard.
• Must be able to talk and hear.
• Close vision is necessary.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

• Basic Skills
• Ability to add, multiply, subtract and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

• Intermediate Skills
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
