Core competencies for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
* Provides for the individual rights of patient receiving services.
* Directs/provides for the appropriate assessment and re-assessment of patients, including collection of historical date, observation of the patient' physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs as they relate to the patient's age.
* Plans and provides appropriate nursing care based on the individual patient's assessed needs.
* Provides healthcare education to patients and/or families pertinent to assessed educational needs.
* Provides continuity of acre by enlisting the services of other healthcare team members to plan a timely and trouble-free discharge to the level of care appropriate to the patient's condition.
* Manages the patient's care to ensure patient safety and to minimize risk to the patient, family, and the organization.
* Manages the patient's environment of care and care unit to ensure environmental safety.
* Manages time and supplies efficiently in the care of the patient to ensure cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
* Communicates pertinent information to appropriate individuals in the management of nursing care.
* Accurately documents the activities of nursing care in the patient record in a complete and timely manner.
* Demonstrates safety in infection control and HazMat practices.
* National Patient Safety Goals.
Qualifications for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
* Licensure in the State of Tennessee as a RN
* Experience preferred
* ACLS required
* Respirator required
