CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

- Maintains and repairs manufacturing and infrastructure equipment, machinery, and plant systems.
- Actively supports Reliability Excellence and site continuous improvement initiatives.
- Uses hand tools, shop tools, and test equipment to troubleshoot, repair and prevent failure of a variety of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical components, machines and systems.

This position is accountable for the efficient operation of all of the equipment and instrumentation throughout the facility, both inside and outside the building. The position is also responsible for the successful utilization of the Electronic Asset Management (eAM) System.

The position accomplishes the organizational objectives by insuring that all equipment and instrumentation is operating at optimal levels.

Major Tasks Include:

* Observe safety and security rules/regulations and avoid equipment hazards as defined in operating instructions.
* Perform continuous safety inspections on all operating equipment in assigned area.
* Participate in housekeeping activities that are indicative of a safe and clutter-free work environment.
* Acquire necessary skills and knowledge of all plant machines and equipment to assist Maintenance staff in timely and quality repairs.
* Utilize eAM for accessing maintenance operating procedures, preventative maintenance tasks, management of the Mechanical Storeroom and operating the Work Order system.
* Have the ability to work with all members of production and maintenance staff.
* Be able to reliably work alone, complete work satisfactorily, and in a timely manner.
* Effectively communicate issues, accomplishments and challenges at shift pass-downs.
* Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for equipment and maintenance tasks; regularly use these documents to ensure safe and efficient maintenance work.
* Participate in and utilize continuous improvement tools and teams where applicable: i.e. Lean, PM program, 5 S's, etc.
* Participate in the initial installation and upkeep of equipment and piping labels as required by plant policy.
* Develop personal skills through ongoing training both at the plant and through outside training classes.
* Support the implementation and maintenance of an effective preventative maintenance program.
* Perform required Preventative Maintenance tasks, including data logging, calibrations, inspections, fluid testing and changes, replacement of wear parts, equipment rebuilds, etc. Use equipment manuals and documentation to identify and order parts needed for PMs and repair.
* Follow the daily work schedule and project schedule as developed by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
* Make timely reporting and documentation of equipment breakdowns or mis-operation; provide troubleshooting to minimize downtime of equipment. Use manuals and available documentation to troubleshoot problems.
* Record information required for Work Order closure time-spent on task, details on the work performed, additional work required and parts that were used.
* Assist in the cleanliness, labeling and upkeep in the mechanical storeroom to provide high spare parts availability and accurate inventory counts.
* Maintain equipment and assist in the development of operating procedures that comply with OSHA, EPA, and State and local agencies to insure worker safety and limit company liabilities.
* Be active in the Emergency Response Team; be a leader in safety, quality and environmental activities.
* Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment, as required and follow all Safe Work Practice elements (Lock-out/Tag-out, Hot Work, Confined Space, Line Break, Controlled Access, etc.).


Requirements:
-Must have 1-3 years of general equipment repair, with strong emphasis in electricity, hydraulics, PLC's, pneumatics and some electronics.
-Must keep neat and legible records as determined by supervision.
-Must be proficient in shop math and metric systems
-Must be able to read, write and understand work documents and instructions printed in English
-Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics
-Familar with test equipment (meters, micrometers, calipers, and scopes, etc.)
-Ability to operate all types of tool room equipment in a safe manner for manufacturing or machinery parts
-Must be able to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
-Must work in a safe manner at all times
-Must be able to work all shifts to fill in for other department employees

training will take place on a 1st shift for a few weeks and then this person will move to the designated shift.

Shift: 2nd - 3pm- 11pm M-F (weekends will be OT and rotationally on call)

PPE: safety glasses, ear protection, steel toe shoes, helmet. Company uniform provided.
