Amusement Ride Mechanic Technician Year-Round - Full-time

This mechanic position is full-time and year-round

Description Purpose: Applicant must possess basic mechanical aptitude and skill. Must have the willingness and ability to use these skills to ensure the safe operation, maintenance, and inspections of amusement rides and attractions.

Key Duties

The Ride Mechanic will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and refurbish amusement rides and their subsystems. This individual will ensure all rides and equipment comply with all Gillian's Amusement and equipment manufacturers' operating standards and requirements. The Ride Mechanic will perform visual and auditory inspections of rides and attractions. The Ride Mechanic will maintain proper records for all inspections, maintenance and repairs performed requirements.

This position requires a background in machine repair, including the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems. Two plus years’ experience with mechanical/electro-mechanical maintenance on aircraft, heavy equipment or industrial machinery. Previous theme park experience is a plus.

Candidates must possess a strong work ethic and safety sensitivity. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; additional training or background experience in welding, machining and the understanding of electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics and control systems is beneficial.

Ride Mechanic is responsible for analysis of the needs for each day’s operation, and making sure all riding devices will be open and operational during park, operating hours.  They will be required to work with DCA state officials and follow their written instructions and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance preferred.
• Ability to communicate using the English language, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to complete required paperwork on a daily basis.
• Ability to adhere to standard maintenance procedures, policies and best practices.
• Ability to efficiently manage time and work without direct supervision.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of all phases of mechanical work including pneumatics, hydraulics, repair, overhaul, lubrication and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to climb heights up to 150 feet.
