About this job

Primary Function:

Primarily responsible for the configuration, design, and employee user experience related to health and welfare benefits enrollment and administration transactions and interactions within the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system and the IT interfaces with third-party claims administrators and insurance carriers.

Also primarily responsible for vendor management, service delivery, communications, compliance activities, Open Enrollment, and the day-to-day execution of related tasks for all employee benefit programs.

Essential functions:

  • Configures and/or tests the health and welfare benefits eligibility rules, events, and benefit plans within the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system, including the annual Open Enrollment processes.
  • Responsible for the business and functional specifications and explanations for setting up and monitoring vendor interface files to and from PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and the third-party claims administrators and insurance carriers for health and welfare benefit plans.
  • Identifies opportunities and leads related projects to increase automation of benefits administration processes and transactions, with an additional emphasis on automating interactions with benefits vendors.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert related to all health and welfare benefits administration processes and systems, including interactions with third-party vendors.
  • Manages the daily interactions and service relationships with key third-party claims administrators, insurance carriers, and brokers/consultants involved in health and welfare benefit plans to ensure the delivery of high quality customer service and accurate benefit plan administration.
  • Supports the communication and branding strategy related to all employee benefit plans in the organization, and coordinates execution with appropriate vendor and consultant partners and internal stakeholders (HR, Legal, Communications, etc.), especially related to Open Enrollment and Plan Changes.
  • Creates system queries, reports, and processes that improve the internal control environment and achieve the complete and accurate administration and financial reporting related to our benefit plans.
  • Organizes data from internal systems and vendors, as requested, to support data analytics requested by management related to employee benefits enrollments, transactions, demographics, and other information as requested.
  • Serves as the primary contact to complete internal and external audit requests, regulatory related testing and compliance filings, and preparation of benefits disclosures, plan documents, and other required communications.
  • Provides project management and system configuration support for transition activities, communications, and transactions related to Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures, and Outsourcing initiatives.
  • Provides systems training to other employees to further assist the attainment of defined goals and objectives for the benefits team, the broader HR People team, and the organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically (0-25% of the time) as required for assigned projects, vendor meetings, and professional development.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Five (5 ) years of experience in Benefits Administration management.
  • Knowledge of ERP and/or HRIS technology platforms, including ability to configure and troubleshoot systems to achieve business priorities and resolve benefits administration issues.

Preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system design and configuration.
  • Human Resources and/or Benefits Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM – CP, SHRM –SCP, CEBS, CBP).
  • Project management experience with larger projects requiring collaboration with vendor partners and multiple internal departments.
  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture transactions and related benefit plan integrations.
  • Advanced knowledge of current and emerging federal and state legal and regulatory requirements related to all employee benefits.
  • Ten (10 ) years of experience in Benefits Administration management.
