POSITION SUMMARY

Position for qualified candidate who desires to be a part of a dedicated growing team at Aetna Better Health of New Jersey. The RN Care Manager Utilizes advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to facilitate appropriate physical and behavioral healthcare and social services for New Jersey Medicaid members through assessment and member-centered care planning, direct provider coordination/collaboration, and coordination of psychosocial wraparound services to promote effective utilization of available resources, optimal member functioning, and cost-effective outcomes.

The RN Care Manager Utilizes advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to facilitate appropriate physical and behavioral healthcare and social services for New Jersey Medicaid members through assessment and member-centered care planning, direct provider coordination/collaboration, and coordination of psychosocial wraparound services to promote effective utilization of available resources, optimal member functioning, and cost-effective outcomes

Position requires proficiency with computer skills which includes navigating multiple systems and keyboarding.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to multitask, prioritize and effectively adapt to a fast paced changing environment

Sedentary work involving periods of sitting, talking, listening.

Work requires sitting for extended periods, talking on the telephone and typing on the computer.

Work requires the ability to perform close inspection of hand written and computer generated documents as well as a PC monitor.

Typical office working environment with productivity and quality expectations

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Registered Nurse (RN) is required

3+ years clinical practice experience, e.g., hospital setting, alternative care setting such as home health or ambulatory care required.

Must be comfortable working over the computer and able to navigate multiple systems.

Case management and discharge planning experience preferred

Managed Care experience preferred

Crisis intervention skills preferred

EDUCATION

The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Nursing/Registered Nurse (RN) is required

FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCES

Functional - Nursing/Case Management/4+ Years

TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCES

Technical - Desktop Tools/Microsoft Explorer//

Technical - Desktop Tools/Microsoft Outlook//

Telework Specifications:

Orientation in the office is approximately six months. After orientation the supervisor will determine is the employee can work some days a week at home.
