Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining optimum asset health for all plant equipment, systems, and structures by performing inspections, repairs and modifications to equipment and structures of feed facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform maintenance work in area of expertise
  • Perform routine plant maintenance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain maintenance records and assist in plant production as needed.
  • Safety - responsible for safety of themselves and teammates.

Our new hire should have a minimum 3 years in a maintenance role or trade school certificate.

Hard/Soft skills good to have:

Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance, planning and scheduling

Previous experience working in a food manufacturing/production facility

Execute assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision

Excellent Math Skills.

Requirements

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a plant job.
  • Able to read/write English
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Must be able to perform maintenance trades including gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems and mechanical maintenance.
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas.
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • At least (1 years) of experience in production related work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift certified
  • Able to perform maintenance trades including electrical, machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication, rigging systems and hydraulic and pneumatic.
  • Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
