Title

Wash Innovation Specialist

Overview

Provides wash and trim inspiration for concepts, collaborating with the Design and Product Development teams. Executes the development and sourcing of brand appropriate washes and trims originating from global markets supporting brand goals and business initiatives. Provides "one-voice" communication to mills and suppliers acting as a liaison between, U.S. home offices, global market mills and suppliers, and world-wide manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with mills and suppliers to ensure successful business partnerships.
  • Research, develop and source washes and trims originating from global markets and communicate findings to Design and Product Development teams including; actual samples, costing, and lead-times. Includes travel to wash houses, mills, and factories to develop new washes.
  • Indentify trends from attending regional and global tradeshows and present to Design and Product Development teams.
  • Manage Wash Calendar, collaborating between brands, mills, and suppliers to meet calendar deadlines surrounding wash and trim development and bulk lead-times.
  • Manage and maintain of pre-development work-in-process (WIP) and bulk fabric wash approvals.
  • Cost complete garments.
  • Responsible for all product testing requirements, compliance and internal standards as related to washes and trims.
  • Set and manage quality assurance and evaluates and tracks mills' and suppliers' performance.
  • Participate in all fabric and wash meetings.
  • Attend all milestone development calendar meetings such as, Formal Concept, Sketch Review, Raw Proto/Wash Review, and Finalization.
  • Ensures Data integrity of fabric folders, fabric recaps and costing recaps.

Qualifications / Job Skills

  • Possess extensive knowledge of wash techniques, dye methods, fabric construction, global raw material procurement, and manufacturing.
  • Extensive mill and supplier sourcing network in global market.
  • Great aesthetic and understanding of all URBN brands.
  • Prioritize and delegate effectively.
  • Work in/with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Pro-actively approach problem solving.
  • Implement operational efficiencies.
  • Adapt quickly to changes.
  • Analyze data at a high level.
  • Driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency.

Experience

5 plus years of experience in an apparel product development role.

Education

Bachelor's Degree Business, or a related field.

Location

Philadelphia, PA

Travel

Some travel required.
