About this job

This position is responsible for developing and managing in-house and third-party preventative maintenance and repair programs for store and customer-use equipment in all US stores. This position is also responsible for monitoring and analyzing spending related to equipment maintenance and repair, capital project management, expense and capital forecasting, purchasing, assisting stores with equipment issues, maintaining equipment data in Lowe's asset management and accounting systems, coordinating preventative maintenance, and monitoring store and third-party service provider performance to ensure work is completed within program guidelines. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the management and oversight of all Lowe's waste and recycling programs in US stores. That includes managing vendor resources, providing customer service to stores, mitigating risks associated with service providers, resolving disputes and strategic problem solving.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of Store Equipment Programs with development, documentation, and communication of in-house and third-party Preventative Maintenance (PM) and repair programs.
  • Management of over 30 different types of equipment/services and 40 plus vendor relationships such as: Store and customer use material handling carts, Store use ladders, Shopping Carts, Kids Race Car Shopping Carts, Shop-A long Carts, Cart corrals, Cart containment systems, Electric and manual wheelchairs, Floor scrubbing machines / Diamabrush program, Conveyor system, Employee Lockers, Employee locker Master Lock and Key system, Money Safe, Cash drawer / Cash drawer insert, Bicycle Racks, Paint shaking equipment, Paint Tinters, Color Matching Equipment, Carpet, and vinyl carousels, cutters and equipment, Bulk electrical wire carousels, cutters and equipment, Pipe threading machine and equipment, Garden center watering wagon, Chain cutters, Panel Saw, Tile saw, Glass cutting machine, Strapping/banding Machine, Compactor, Baler, Power Stock Lifters (PSLs) and Cantilever ladder, Blind cutters, Wire shelving cutter, Rope counter and burner
  • Comprehensive multi-million-dollar Capital Project Management from inception to deployment, completion and all associated on-going store / vendor support.
  • Management of all Recycling and Waste programs with development, documentation, and communication of in-house and third party training. Assist in large scale resets to ensure waste management protocols are met.
  • Oversight of all compliance and regulatory standards being met with regards to e-waste, organics and recyclables.
  • Manage all regulatory and compliance issues associated with equipment weights and measure inspections as required.
  • Assist stores with equipment and waste removal issues including monitoring and responding to the Cart & Ladder & Waste and Recycling e-mailbox.
  • Initiate and help facilitate Request for Information (RFI) process, Request for Proposal (RFP) process, contract negotiations, and awarding of contracts. Draft Statements of Work as required.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to ensure FSA and Service Provider / Equipment Vendor work is completed cost-effectively and within program guidelines.
  • Review third-party service provider work-orders and invoicing to ensure accuracy of work completed and amount charged.
  • New store set-up forecasting, analyzing blueprints, PAR allocation and ordering of store and customer equipment.
  • Category manager and buyer for Store Requisitions for new and replacement equipment.
  • Comprehensive asset management, including oversight of the STORE ASSET MGT TOOL (SAM).
  • Daily review of all service repair estimates and new equipment proposals from service providers.
  • Develop the annual STOT & capital budget for waste, recycling, new and replacement equipment and equipment PM and repair (Non-Capital Store Equipment STOT account line), monitoring commitments and spending, participating in monthly, quarterly, and long-range forecasting, perform analysis and generate reporting as required.
  • Audit and submit monthly invoice payments for service providers. Execute all buying responsibilities associated with Spend Management. Provide spend variance explanations to finance as required.
  • Work with vendor partners to schedule Preventative Maintenance activity performed by Store FSAs and third-party service providers.
  • Evaluate equipment and programs to identify opportunities for cost savings and control while maintaining operational efficiencies and employee/customer safety.
  • Make decisions regarding repair or replacement of equipment based on service history, repair costs, and equipment operation.
  • Work with other Lowe's corporate business units (COE, Loss Prevention, Safety and Operations, Sourcing, Inventory, FP&A, Risk Management, and Corporate Accounting) on waste management and equipment-related issues.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • OR 3+ years of Experience working in a Lowe's support position and/or working with third-party service providers AND
  • General understanding of accounting principles and accounting, inventory, and asset management policies and practices
  • General understanding of retail and/or Lowe's store operations
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of RFI, RFP, and contracting policies and practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including Senior Leaders
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, Access
  • Basic understanding of SAM (EAM), Remedy, PeopleSoft Projects, PeopleSoft e-Procurement, and PeopleSoft Financials

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • 3+ years of Experience working in a Lowe's support position and/or working with third-party service providers
  • Subject matter expertise in equipment used in Lowe's stores
  • Understanding of Lowe's planning and budgeting processes
  • Excellent understanding of SAM (EAM), Remedy, PeopleSoft Projects, PeopleSoft e-Procurement, and PeopleSoft Financials
