About The Job

This job is a member of the Information Technology Team, within the Information Technology Division. This position is a Programmer/Analyst supporting American Eagle regional airline operations, involved with all portions of the IT life cycle, with 75% of time allocated to technical aspects (design/coding), including: 1) Web site and web services development using .Net/C#, MVC, REST Services, IIS, 2) Console application and Windows Service development using .Net/C#, 3) Programming utilizing Oracle and SQL Server databases and message queues (MQ Series/MSMQ), 4) Integration of commercial off the shelf software with other internal systems, and 5) Manage data exchanges with internal departments and external business partners. This position will be located at the Envoy Headquarters - West Building in Irving, TX.

Specifically you'll do the following:

  • Plan, develop, test, and document computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
  • Evaluate user request for new or modified program to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities.
  • Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn ways to develop programs that meet user requirements.
  • Formulate plan outlining steps required to develop program using structured analysis and design.
  • Prepare flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved.
  • Design screen displays to accomplish goals of user request.
  • Convert project specifications into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into language processable by computer, applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages.
  • Review, replace, delete, or modify codes to correct errors.
  • Analyze, review, and alter program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with IT trends; work with architecture teams to establish new design patterns relevant to solving business needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of experience in application development and/or IT infrastructure engineering
  • 3 years of experience defining user requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in application development and/or IT infrastructure engineering
  • Strong ASP.Net programming skills (web sites and web services) using SQL/Oracle relational database
  • Experience with front-end user interface design (e.g., HTML, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap)
  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Knowledge of Windows Server configuration
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups
  • Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently
