WORK HOURS:

Tuesday through Thursday: 12:30 PM - 9 PM

Friday: 11 AM - 7:30 PM

Saturday: 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Position Purpose:

Provides group, individual counseling, education classes, orientation, individual appointments, make-up groups for alcohol and drug issues, and in the DUIP Multiple Conviction Program, facilitation of continuing care groups.

  • Facilitates and conducts programs for participants in ways to reduce the negative impact of the use of chemical and alcohol involvement.
  • Completes case management, including the maintenance of individual client files, group rosters, and group notes.
  • Monitors client payment history. Keeps management informed on clients in arrears, completing monthly arrearage report. Dismisses clients as directed in accordance with Title Nine.
  • Maintains group sign-in sheets, ensuring group size is in accordance with Title Nine.
  • Conducts re-reinstatements, intakes, transfers, orientation, and other client activities as needed.
  • Directs disposition of sensitive or problematic client situations to appropriate Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

  • Candidates fluent in both English and Spanish preferred.
  • AOD certification, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent alcohol counseling experience.
  • Minimum two years alcoholism counseling experience.
  • Minimum one year experience providing education information.

License/Certification:

  • Registered or Certified AOD Counselor in the State of California, in good standing.
  • Possess a minimum of 2080 hours in providing educational or counseling services to persons with alcohol and/or other drug problems.
