Function: Product Engineering

Title: Part-Time Student - Chemistry - Fargo, ND - 38547

Your Responsibilities

  • Support projects that optimize the operation of the Material Science & Analysis Laboratory analytical instrumentation including, but not limited to, ion chromatographs, FTIR spectrometer, x-ray fluorescence spectrometer, and thermal analysis equipment.
  • Reviews necessary support documentation for analytical method development and generates internal support documents as directed.
  • Support the maintenance of testing documentation for each project in a neat and organized fashion for approval by supervisor and other engineering personnel.
  • Works closely with supervisor or other Advanced Tech personnel, establishes test parameters and executes testing per the test plan.

What It Takes

  • Must be highly motivated, self-starter, team oriented and work with little or no supervision.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Pursuing a degree in a Chemistry program
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
  • Graduation date of May 2020 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

  • Familiarity with general theory, use, and calibration of analytical instrumentation
  • Ability to accurately prepare calibration standards and test solutions
  • Strong technical writing skills
