Position Summary:

Manage the day-to-day execution and assist with the sourcing and of enterprise categories/commodities to reduce spend/increase revenues. Identify procurement opportunities, strategies, create competition, bid/negotiate agreements and award business. Essential Job Functions:
  • Identify procurement opportunities including impact points associated with partnering departments and identify broader strategies for greater pricing/cost reductions.
  • Understand supply chain/distribution methods and protocols to evaluate bidding process scenarios.
  • Prepare Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quote (RFQ), and Request for Proposal (RFP).
  • Identify/establish a standardization specifications and leverage volume.
  • Communicate process with divisions/stores to continue day to day commitment and proper execution.
  • Ensure compliance with Best Practice agreements.
  • Understand how store formats influence decisions/specifications and financial impact.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on projects between multiple lines of business.
  • Assist in sourcing new suppliers to maintain a competitive and diverse supplier base.
  • Assist in developing new equipment or initiating new business models with vendors.
  • Perform KeS bidding with an understanding of format(s).
  • Collaborate with distribution facilities/3rd party operators.
  • Ensure data integrity of internal purchasing systems.
  • Apply basic business law to day to day legal and regulatory compliance regarding contracts. Evaluate proposals to identify saving opportunities and apply results to Enterprise.
  • Support requisitions/exceptions and performs ordering/expediting activities.
  • Collaborate with distribution facilities and 3rd party operators to achieve service levels.
  • Identify internal/external cost-drivers.
  • Manage requisitions and ordering/expediting activities to promote purchases.
  • Monitor markets to identify impacts to existing contracts.
  • Train/lead/direct the work of internal /external field of expertise resources (L8)
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of procurement, supply chain management and strategic sourcing activities (L6)
  • Knowledge of creating a RFI, RFQ and RFP (L6)
  • 2 years' RFP experience. (e.g. writing/preparing/processing/executing bids) (L7)
  • 1-2 years' experience in supply chain procurement/sourcing (L7)
  • 3-5 years' experience supply chain procurement or sourcing (L8)
  • Ability to learn procurement, supply chain management and strategic sourcing activities
  • Ability to manage conflict/gain commitment and improve conditions/processes
  • Ability to multi-task, good organization, prioritization skills and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel independently (15%)
Desired Previous Job Experience
  • Ability to read/understand engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related major
  • Store Management/Merchandising/Economics/market trend analysis
  • Purchasing Manager/Food Safety Certification
  • Experience category responsibility and in replenishment buying
