Terrain Seasonal Nursery Sales Consultant - 138 Lancaster Ave. Devon - Full-time / Part-time

Reports to: Nursery Manager, Nursery Assistant Manager

OBJECTIVE

Terrain is seeking enthusiastic sales and customer service focused individuals with the ability to build sales and problem solve through effective communication and plant education. Some knowledge of plant material, including trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, vegetables, herbs, and tropical's is required.

PEOPLE

• Assist customers with plant identification, selection, site and cultural requirements, disease, and pest control.
• Product knowledge including soil amendments, soil types, and organic pest/disease control and garden tools are useful.
• Work productively with the team and take initiative to work with others toward a common, collaborative goal.
• Possess effective and positive communication skills.
• Be flexible. Know that sometimes priorities will change within a given day or week.
• Provide a high level of individualized customer service. Exceed customer expectations by building genuine, long lasting relationships with our guests through personalized attention.
• Have knowledge of and share with customers all in store events.
• Assist in training and development of peers.

PROCESS

• Maintain plant material in designated zone (watering, pinching, pest control,
• Perform all operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with company policies and procedures (markdowns, transfers)
• Exhibit awareness of Loss Prevention issues and Inventory Control measures (receiving process, MOS, cycle counts)

PRESENTATION

• Apply the Terrain aesthetic to enhance the visual impact of our unique merchandise
• Work with team members across departments to create and maintain inspirational displays including diverse indoor plant material, staff kiosks, and display containers
