Risk Management is at the core of Payments done well – and we are hiring curious, driven, and courageous experts to transform our business unit and enable eBay's next generation Payments strategy. Our focus is to ensure the integrity of our marketplace for buyers and sellers who transact with us every single day. The scope of our charter includes Risk Management Strategy, Policy, Decision Sciences, and Policy Operations. As a Process Optimization and Implementation Lead you report to the Director of Process Optimization & Implementation, and will be a critical leader in documenting, rationalizing and optimizing the core business processing that mitigate risks related to global payments processing. Responsibilities You are a process champion, facilitating cross-functional work to drive process rationalization and efficiencies across teams in order to enable highly scalable, global risk management processes. With your combination of intense curiosity and a passion for continuous improvement, you will systematically redefine how we handle and govern every aspect of risk management related to customer onboarding, registration, underwriting, payments, and recoupment. You will facilitate process improvement workshops across business units, Finance, Legal and CPT teams. You will help us align on defining, documenting, and governing risk management processes that are efficient, scalable, and designed for purpose as we create a global Payments business. You will ensure process owners clearly document, monitor, test, and refresh their processes in support of our growing business. You are accountable for the cataloguing and rationalization of process maps for the teams that support these processes. You will lead prioritization and planning work to align on implementation plans that support new automated and manual processes and procedures. You will report out on the progress of process improvement and systems projects to ensure we deliver on a continuous improvement approach for our business with the goal of mitigating risks assessed in our planning processes. You will create review materials for senior management and executive level process reviews to ensure all core processes that manage risk for eBay's global payment processing strive for continuous improvement, that our highest risks are being addressed through this work, and that impactful recommendations are made to course correct and achieve the right outcomes for our customers and our business. Qualifications You have a deep understanding of risk management in multiple areas: underwriting, fraud mitigation for online or mobile payment transaction processing, loss mitigation and recovery, and payments compliance You are an expert in process creation, documentation and optimization at a global level, with strong knowledge of industry benchmarks and standard methodologies You can demonstrate application and management of a process excellence framework in a prior role You have proven facilitation skills and a strong track record of change implementation across multiple teams You possess excellent problems solving skills – the ability to tap into a wide range of previous experience, internal and external technologies, and advanced concepts to solve complex, and sometimes conflicting, business objectives across multiple functions You bring with you a consistent track record collaborating across complex organizations to become a trusted advisor, providing thought leadership to help teams balance near term and long range plans to achieve corporate objectives 5+ years experience in Management Consulting, Process Design, or related field Undergraduate degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering or related field MS/MBA/MA degree or equivalent experience Ability and willingness to travel as needed Here at eBay, we love creating opportunities for others by connecting people from widely different backgrounds, perspectives, and geographies.
