Retail Associate Position

Harvest Time International Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to meeting the needs of children and families by providing self-sufficiency programs for hunger relief, improved health, and access to basic necessities in Central Florida, the United States and the World through its domestic and international resources and collaborations.

As a retail associate, you’ll be front and center working in many roles, everything from cashier to sorting and stocking, while providing outstanding customer service to our clients. You'll also assist management by pricing product, monitoring inventory, assisting clients, and keeping the area looking its best.

You must be able to lift and stock merchandise up to 45 pounds. You must be able to multitask and communicate effectively with other staff members. Excellent customer service skills and communication are a must. You must be at least 18 years old and a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. You must also pass a drug screening and background check prior to employment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned as necessary):

• Set up displays of product on shelves, counters, tables, and/or racks to more easily fulfill client needs.
• Receive, open, unpack and issue products.
• Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred products.
• Examine product for defects and to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
• Answer questions about products and/or direct clients to the location of the product.
• Clean and organize display cases, shelves, and aisles.
• Accurately mark, attach, or change pricing per management or by referring to price list.
• Operate cash register, enter products purchased into POS system, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and applicable discounts on monitor screen.
• Make change and issue receipts to clients.
• Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.

Qualifications for this position are as follows:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Must have a minimum of 90 days experience with POS (point of sale) system
• Must have clean criminal background and pass a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work in warehouse conditions (hot, noisy, etc.)
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 45 lbs. repeatedly on a daily basis
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, climb, crawl, kneel, and remain standing for long periods of time
• Must have reliable transportation

Attendance Requirements:
• This position is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.
• Work shift is Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
• Must maintain perfect attendance throughout a 90 day probationary period
• Must be willing to work overtime when required
