Job Description


The Maintenance Team Coordinator position will assist the Plant Manager in coordinating assignments, establishing priorities for other maintenance personnel, recommending improvements, and soliciting quotes from vendors.  The Team Coordinator will also ensure all preventive maintenance (PM) functions needed to keep production running efficiently are completed accurately and in a timely manner.  Finally, the Team Coordinator will support production by minimizing downtime and getting/keeping equipment running needed to support our customers.  This is a “hands-on” position, not an administrative position, and will involve overtime and on-call support as needed.  The Maintenance Team Coordinator should lead by example and be willing to work hard.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Safety is our top priority.  The Team Coordinator must work safely and be safety conscious at all times.

•    Must be able to satisfactorily perform all duties and responsibilities referenced in the work instructions for this position.

•    Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics needed for repair, installation, or extraction of production machinery.

•    Must have proven knowledge and skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain metal fabrication production equipment, understand building and grounds maintenance needs, and material handling equipment including forklifts and hand trucks.

•    Must have proven knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and repair 3-phase 120, 240 ,480-volt electrical circuits, as well as 12, 24, 120, 240, & 480 volt  single-phase electrical circuits, DC circuits voltages, motor control circuits, pneumatic system/circuits, hydraulic system/circuits

•    Assists in the completion of projects and daily activities including PM Schedules, ordering parts, and inventory control.

•    Demonstrate “leadership by example” with high ethical standards and communication skills,

•    Demonstrate a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude towards employees, customers and vendors.  

•    Candidate should display knowledge and capability to train and educate other maintenance personnel.

•    The Team Coordinator reports problems, with potential solutions, to the Plant Manager for direction and guidance.     

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   

The Team Coordinator Position will report directly to the Plant Manager.  With guidance from the Plant Manager, this position may have direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE:   

The Team Coordinator should have a minimum of one year certificate from an accredited college or technical school with five years experience; or Associates Degree with one to three years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:   

This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of fractions, division, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations..

REASONING ABILITY:   

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

COMPUTER SKILLS: 

Competent computer skills are required in use of general office software and maintenance hardware/software as needed to interface with production machinery.
