Job Description: Front End Supervisor

Reports to: Supervisors, Assistant Manager & Store Manager
Direct Reports: Associates working in the Front End 

Position Philosophy:  The duties of the Front End Supervisor position are to be performed by demonstrating and encouraging Stan’s Merry Mart’s core values.

The Front End Supervisor position is primarily responsible for the sales and retail operations of their assigned departments the Front end and Cashiers. The responsibilities of the Front End Supervisor are the following plus those of the Sales Associate position. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
•	Assist management team with completing performance reviews according to the company schedule on personnel assigned to your department. 
•	Assist with daily task lists and assigning specific duties to each employee and follow up to make sure duties are completed. 
•	Lead training and development of the cashier position and customer service position.
Customer Service
●	Promote Customer Service as our #1 priority in their assigned department as well as store wide. 
●	Be aware of and help all customers in the store, not only in the assigned department.
●	Oversee department special orders and maintenance of special orders working with Inventory Coordinator and Buyer as necessary. 
●	Assist cashiers and customers with large special orders. Also working in conjunction with the buyer to make sure all items are available, communicating the sale price and other factors that may affect the purchase to the customer.
●	Assist with manager overrides, returns and exchanges. 
●	Direct the flow of customer traffic to the register and teach the customer service position how to best help with customer traffic. 
Inventory Control
●	Assist in maintaining optimum inventory levels to insure service to our customers, as well as maximizing operating efficiency in turns and profits. 
●	Oversee stocking of inventory from freight that arrives daily.
●	Properly maintain front end area so that the space is appropriately merchandised. 
●	Maintain stock by filling outs with merchandise to utilize display space. 
●	Oversee receiving, pricing and tagging of all items within the assigned department. 
●	Work to prepare accurate inventory counts with department associates. 
●	Maintain accurate merchandise returns. 

Communications
●	Continually keep department staff sufficiently informed about plans, projects, policies and procedures in the Front End.

Safety Compliance and Housekeeping
●	Enforces safety policies and procedures on a daily basis; is a safety role model.
●	Enforces housekeeping procedures on a daily basis to ensure and maintain the best store appearance
●	Have knowledge of overall store policies, procedures and goals. 


Additional Requirements:
●	High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
●	Must have good written and oral communication skills
●	Ability to provide motivation and leadership to employees in department.
●	Must be able to solve issues pertaining to inventory, merchandising, etc. on a day to day basis.

●	Place proper priorities on work to be done.
●	Keep well informed on facts important to the Front End.
●	Fair and impartial in dealing with employees.
●	Communicate well with others, and work well as part of a retail team.

●	Possess product knowledge of the front end area and impulse along with a willingness to learn. 
●	Develops and maintains customer relationships as well with employees and management staff.
