The Sr. Sales Analyst will report to the Director of Sales, providing support for the largest sales desk in the company. In this role, the Sr. Analyst can expect to play a role in several internal cross-functional discussions, including supply chain, marketing, logistics and trade finance, while also working with the customer on daily, operational and strategic initiatives.
The Sr. Sales Analyst is responsible for providing complex, actionable insights and analytical support for key sales planning and sales assessment initiatives, utilizing and developing advanced sales tools for planning and achieving sales, share, and profit objectives. The position is highly visible in customer facing meetings, planning sessions, and phone inquiries.
Responsibilities may include:
- Gather and report on category developments, including competitive trends, making fact based recommendations for improving sales by utilizing multiple tools (IRI, Retail Link, internal tools and programs). Managing and developing tools as needed to complete these tasks accurately and in a timely basis.
- Provide on-going, accurate, analytical support in the areas of sales forecasts, demand planning, and monitoring field sales execution of the plans.
- Support the Director of Sales at customer facing meetings and planning sessions while actively managing internal projects to support and/or improve business processes within the constraints of the project.
- Accurately tracking and evaluating new product performance based on key performance indicators, determining new product impact on the brand, segment, and category.
- Continually assessing current portfolio for long-term sku optimization with distribution recommendations supported by fact based analysis.
- Deliver engaging, informative, articulate, accurate, and well-organized presentations or written documentation.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business with a strong financial and mathematical background is desired.
Years of Related Experience: 2+ years direct experience working with Walmart or previous experience with Schwan’s
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MapPoint, Outlook, etc
- Demonstrates high integrity in keeping with personal and company values
- Presentation skills with the ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Strong analytical skills with experience working with large amounts of raw data
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Prior experience and understanding of the consumer package goods industry preferred
