POSITION SUMMARY

The Product and Program Development Office within the Products and Services division is leading an ambitious and industry disruptive strategy to revolutionize how we interact with our members as we join them in their pursuit of their ideal health journey. Our mission is to deliver seamlessly integrated capabilities to transform the member experience and improve health. We are looking for a clinician who is passionate about disrupting the healthcare experience of our members with pace and build to significant scale. The position will report to the Products and Services CMO and head of the Product and Program Development Office.

Travel is required to Boston, NYC and Hartford offices on a regular basis to support various stakeholders and business partners. Work at Home Possible but would prefer candidate be located in one of these three (3) offices.

Fundamental Components:

There are three strategic priorities related to this role; a clinical and service lead who can work collaboratively with Aetna Digital, Analytics and Behavior Change, and business units (sales and marketing) to provide clinical validation for existing products, input into enhancements for existing products and diligence for market research and competitive differentiation required of all clinical products and services available in our portfolio.

This role will support the development and implementation of health promotion, health savings, and member engagement strategies for all Consumer Product and Services business units; ensuring alignment with other Aetna clinical activities and strategies. We expect this to increase the impact and effectiveness of our portfolio of digital and clinical initiatives to promote health and health savings across Aetnas membership.

Key Responsibilities

Design health management activities to be implemented within Products and Services, ensuring consistency across business units, for a differentiated member experience.

Lead the implementation of the clinical product strategy for each business unit, optimizing clinically-specific differentiating features.

Partner closely with our medical director resources to develop evaluation strategies for specific activities and coordinate the development of clinical insights that can be deployed through the business assets and channels

Identify clinical conditions that can be targeted for health behavior change activities, with the goals of improving health, containing cost, and aligning with CH&S and enterprise clinical strategies. Support the business units in implementing these health behavior change activities.

Support the creation of core clinical content and use cases for use across the product and service capabilities

Heal lead test-and-learn cycles used to optimize health behavior change levers in our products

Help define and measure the impact of clinical activities.

Provide input to Products and Services Chief Medical Officer for clinical strategy.

Coordinate with other clinical areas of Aetna where clinical programs and services are housed to ensure consistent clinical best practices across Aetna

Survey literature and innovative programs to identify elements that could enhance existing offerings.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

Experienced clinician (3+ years post-training)

Advanced degree in business/ healthcare administration, public policy, or public health preferred

Passion for leveraging analytics and technology to help all members achieve their optimal health through consumer-driven behavior change

Deep understanding of healthcare systems, and the policy and payment structures that support them

Experience working in a matrixed organization; with previous success in partnering with other teams and individuals to drive solutions and outcomes. The key non-clinical partners to this role include; analytics, marketing, clinical operations, product sales, and Product and Services product leads

Strong communicator can clearly and simply communicate complex health concepts to diverse stakeholders

Awareness and accounting for the unique clinical aspects in the development of digital tools and products

Knowledge of leading edge consumer digital health programs and capabilities and applicability for our digital products

Track record of execution: keen to roll-up sleeves and impact product capabilities & outcomes

Test, learn and iterate approach continual refinement of our products, services and roadmap

M.D. or D.O.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a MD or DO

Position can also be located in Hartford, CT or New York, NY as well.
