Position Qualifications:

  • We require a nursing degree from an accredited school.
  • You'll also need a current MO RN license.
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP Certification required within 90 days of hire. Fetal Monitoring Certification updated yearly.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Mercy Hospital Aurora: Labor & Delivery, Newborn Care, Postpartum Care.

The L&D RN performs direct patient care for laboring, delivery room, postpartum patients and newborns, to include assessment, planning, implementation of care plan. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation, consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals and philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and the Employee Code of Conduct.-Recognizes a life threatening/emergency situation and responds quickly -Identifies psychosocial and spiritual needs- Correctly interprets information from monitoring technology- Recognizes safety needs- Remains current by attending unit staff meetings/reading minutes.- Is responsive to department staffing needs.
