Role Summary:

The Dowty USA Quality Leader is responsible for the overall product quality review associated with the maintenance, repair, overhaul and manufacturing process for the Dowty USA operation. The successful candidate will drive the site's tactical and strategic Quality Improvement Plan, and all the Quality related activities and initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

Additionally, as the Dowty USA Quality Leader, key responsibilities will include:

Serve as the site's focal point for Quality with customers, headquarters, regulators and auditors

Conduct recruitment, selection, development, and promotion of the Quality team

Execute strategies related to quality assurance and quality control of products, services, and manufacturing processes

Work cooperatively with the operations team to identify systemic quality issues within the plant and develop robust root cause corrective actions

Establish and execute strategic road map for process capability and inspection technology

Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to monitor and drive process improvement activities

Drive preventive and corrective actions to assure product compliance to specifications

Ensure that products and services perform according to quality standards and that manufacturing processes are capable and qualified

Drive the GE Aviation Production System elements (QIP and LPR) as needed

Partner with the shop leadership to assess the operations needs and develop new solutions based upon precedents in the organizations

Work on cross functional teams to cater to the Quality priorities

Develop and deliver solutions that enable the team to successfully execute quality initiatives set in the GE Aviation Production System

Conduct measurement system analysis

Coordinate technical aspects and lead requisitions

Build solid relationships with key customers and suppliers, and ensure customer requirements are evaluated, documented and flowed down properly, and products are validated

Present product / program strategies, technical road maps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders (Executives and Senior Executives) across GE

Implement the timely execution of quality simplification and improvement concepts to meet evolving needs

Coordinate design, project, and system engineers during detailed design, start-up, and warranty administration phases of project

Supervise activities such as field issues and failures investigations, root cause analyses and implementation of corrective actions, lessons learned issues and consequently design standard updates

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Production Quality or related Manufacturing field

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics:

AS9100 or similar Quality management system awareness

IPC and J-STD-001 Training

Ability to lead and influence peers

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

Established project management skills

Quality System working knowledge and / or Certifications
