The Highlights
The Sales Engineer II – Carrier Access will be responsible for supporting larger Carrier Access Wholesale clients and national account teams that are focused on selling Layer 2 Ethernet services including: Metro Ethernet (MAN/WAN), Carrier E-NNI’s, DIA, Waves, IP Transit to clients throughout the United States. The Sales Engineer II – Carrier Access will provide consultative sales technical support, working with account teams to develop proposals and recommend solutions to meet customer business requirements. Sales Engineer II – Carrier Access will support accounts including Carrier Access Wholesale
What You Will Do
  • Assess clients’ business and technical needs
  • Work on Project based assignments
  • Technical and product presentations, network design, audits, consulting, and formal proposal writing
  • Focus on Spectrum Enterprise Metro Ethernet, standard and non-standard solutions and will also work with various Spectrum Enterprise network engineering, operations, product, and IT organizations to develop unique service offerings
  • Develop technical responses
  • SME for Spectrum Enterprise Business Data services and sell solutions, proof of concept designs to internal Spectrum Enterprise engineering and support organizations
  • Keep abreast of new industry trends
  • Ensure compliance with all Policies and Procedures
  • Perform other duties as requested
Required Keys for Success
  • Previous Carrier experience selling to tier 1 and Tier 2 providers
  • In-depth working knowledge across multiple technical disciplines and vendor products that include Data Layer 2 Networking communications, IP security strategies, Converging technologies, Broadband, IP-VPN, DWDM, MPLS/VPLS, Metro Ethernet, DIA, optical/wave solutions, IP Transit, LAN/WAN integration, and SDN/NFV concepts
  • Experience in the design and implementation of complex Layer 2 Ethernet Networks including MEF standard E-Access, E-LINE and E-LAN, MPLS, Dedicated Internet Access, IP Transit and optical solutions
  • Ability to network across departments and work effectively with boundary partners
  • Strong problem solving skills: ability to assess and problem and determine an effective course of action
  • Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously and in an account team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Cisco and Juniper certifications recommended
  • 5 years' Networking Experience with Telecom/Service Provider vertical, Systems Integrator
  • 5 years' Field Experience in Pre-Sales in Telecommunications/cable industry

  • Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, and Adva network equipment
Your Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Computer Science or related field; or equivalent training, education and experience
  • MEF CECP preferred
  • Network Certification preferred (Cisco, ALU, Juniper)
