PAY GRADE:18GRADE RANGE:                         $50,000.00 - $82,500.00TIER CODE:                                   2REPORTS TO:      Director of IT, IT ManagerSUPERVISES:                               Support Specialist, Support Specialist II, Support Specialist IIISUMMARY:Oversee the IT staff and ensure end users are receiving appropriate assistance from Support Specialists. Assists the IT Manager and Director of IT in the supervision of the department Administrators. This includes the responsibility of supervising all procedures related to the identification, prioritization and resolution of end user help requests, including the monitoring, tracking and coordination of Help Desk functions. The IT Supervisor will also contribute to problem resolution by giving in-person, hands-on support to end users at the desktop level and assist with system performance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategy & Planning•Lead in performance training, long-term hardware planning, budget accountability, I.T. operations auditability and the development of employees to their highest potential•Ensure cooperative environment between operations and development•Responsible for monitoring process flow to achieve maximum quality commitment to our clients/users•Assist in the periodic evaluation and review of computer projects and operating equipment as requested  •Work on property specific projects, such as remodels, relocation of department and installation of new computer systems, as well as on company wide projects•Assist other departments with data communications projects and problemsAcquisition & Deployment•Make recommendations for the preparation of departmental budget and capital expenditure requests•Assist in the review and analysis of department cost against plan and prepares variance explanations as needed•Assist in the development of standards for I.T. operations performance and methods to ensure compliance with those standards and methods.  •Supervise the administration of updates/changes to system parameters, production programs, files and databases ensuring proper documentation is followed when new programs are put into production•Interact with all departments on the property to facilitate communications and ensure successful project implementations•Keep open communications with all vendors in regards to all equipment lease and maintenance agreementsOperational Supervision•Maintain the overall operating activities, facilities and staff of I.T., data communications, data disaster recovery and access to information systems at the property level•Responsible for the hiring and development of personnel while ensuring an adequate level of labor is used to perform to the required level of service•Understand and administers performance appraisals, sets performance expectations and provides coaching and operational support for all Help Desk staff•Develop, implement, communicate procedures and coordinate with IT. staff and clients to ensure minimum downtime for backups and prompt restoration of failed computer systems, applications and database components, having direct effect upon customer service to our clients and users•Ensure full system backup and recovery•Schedule and conduct interdepartmental meetings to communicate any process changes and information pertinent to I.T. operations team functions and expected performance as needed•Present complex topics to non-technical management as required•Complete monthly status reports•Enforce operational controls and access to property level computer facilities to meet I.T.’s auditability•Audits user access to various IT Systems to ensure appropriate authority•Ensure system/application events are reported according to guidelines•Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical mannerPerforms other duties as assigned by Information Technology Manager

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
Formal Education & Certification
•	Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science, computer engineering, or reasonably similar discipline. Two years of casino experience may be substituted for the education requirement. 
•	Significant experience and certifications around any of the following technologies:
o	Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP ) 
o	IBM Certification
o	VMware (VCP)
o	Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, CCVP, CCIE, etc.)

Knowledge & Experience
•	Complete knowledge of all host computer systems, operating systems, hardware, software and help desk problem determination techniques
•	Thorough knowledge of I.T. Operations, customer support, I/O control and report distribution
•	Working technical knowledge of network environments, PC and server platform operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, AIX and Linux
•	Working technical knowledge of current systems software protocols and internet standards, including Firewalls and Active Directory
•	Working knowledge of IBM/400 control language and query applications
•	Proven expertise in dealing with user problems and vendor relationships

•	Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Preferred
•	Two years supervisory experience in I.T. Operations
