The Highlights

The Strategic Account Specialist is a consultative field sales position within our business-to-business sales team. In this role, you will sell voice, data, cloud and video services to new and existing clients. Strategic account specialists create and develop long-term relationships with new and existing customers in the large enterprise space. Both high-level technical discussions and C-level business conversations will be required to be successful in this role. In this position, you will sell dedicated fiber based services to enterprise clients, including point-to-point Ethernet connections, Dedicated Internet Access, Wi-Fi, and managed services. These include voice, cloud and video services.

What you will do

  • Cultivate and maintain key business-to-business relationships with large enterprise accounts within assigned territory/market segment to sell services into large enterprise accounts
  • Achieve a monthly revenue quota in data, phone, cloud and video sales
  • Identify target markets, industries and contacts for our enterprise product portfolio
  • Strong cold calling (prospecting/door knocking) for new client
  • Network with area peers to acquire referrals
  • Write and presente professional, organized proposals
  • Negotiate contracts with CEO/CTO level executives
  • Project management of sales cycle activities and service implementation
  • Maintaining and reporting sales activity, including funnels, sales call activity, 30/60/90 day forecasts
  • Developingclient-centric solutions and delivering sales proposals on product features and benefits
  • Consistently achieve monthly sales quota
  • Building and maintaining relationships in the corporate and IT community
  • Carry out other duties as requested by manager

Required keys for success

  • Ability to travel a majority of the time (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities using a reliable personal vehicle
  • Proven closer
  • Salesforce, ICOMS/CSG or other billing system experience
  • Strong sales level knowledge of complex services
  • Understand TCP/IP networking
  • Familiarity with business software and hardware applications and intranets
  • Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and equipment including routers, switches, frame relay, ATM, SONET and Ethernet
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of network facilities in a corporate environment in support of telephony requirements (such as call centers)
  • Understand need and function of network security and firewalls
  • Understand trunking products such as T1, PRI and SIP
  • Quickly conduct cost analysis and product recommendations
  • Work in dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Learn quickly and apply that knowledge
  • Multitask and work efficiently and effectively within required deadlines
  • Valid state driver's license and safe driving record required
  • Microsoft Office expertise and Visio experience
  • Attends all sales meetings and training sessions required by management

How you will stand out from the crowd

  • Demonstrated success as a top sales performer, consistently exceeding revenue quota
  • Four or more years of business-to-business sales experience selling data, voice, cloud and/or video solutions to multi location enterprise accounts
  • Experience in selling to corporate executives
  • Experience in outside sales to enterprise, healthcare, state and local government, and/or education
  • Experience negotiating Master Service Agreements
  • Telephony experience in selling
  • Experience in financial/business benefits selling
  • Analytical/interpersonal skills

Your education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (preferred)
