About this job
The Nurse Technician assists with patient care throughout nursing areas, and is responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation in order to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate's degree preferred
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licenses:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Georgia required without completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR a post-secondary nursing education program; OR currently enrolled in a School of Nursing with completion of the "Fundamentals of Nursing" curriculum.
Minimum Work Experience:
One (1) year experience as a nurse assistant or nurse tech preferred
